Jaimie Tapper
Biography
As an Organisational Psychologist and Coach, I draw on ‘third wave’ cognitive behavioural approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness and positive psychology. I work with individuals and groups to improve their performance and enhance their personal wellbeing.
Prior to retraining as an Organisational Psychologist (MSc, City, University of London), I had a 13-year career as a professional ballet dancer with the National Ballet of Canada and the Royal Ballet Company (UK). I retired as Principal dancer with the Royal Ballet in 2006, having begun my career transition by completing my first degree by distance learning.
In addition to my private practice, my portfolio career includes an executive role leading the strategic development of staff health and performance at Shoreditch Trust as their Deputy Chief Executive Officer. I am also a Research Associate at the Centre for Psychological Wellbeing and Neuroscience, City, University of London.
I have a special interest in working with professional artists and athletes, helping them (re)discover meaning and purpose in their careers and lives, and navigate through different career and life stages. I currently work with a number of professional dance companies in the UK, including The Royal Ballet, Rambert, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Northern Ballet, and Scottish Ballet. I am also a consultant with The National Ballet School of Canada. In 2019 I joined the Board of Trustees of Studio Wayne McGregor.
